MILL WOODS PARK MASTER PLAN

The Griswoldville Preservation Association (GPA) has followed developments connected with the master plan for Mill Woods Park (See Chairman's Letters).  During 2007 a contractor was signed to develop more detailed plans and estimates for two ball fields.  Town Council appointed a Building Committee for the Park. Mill Wood's Park Master Plan Spring 2007 contains information about the Master Plan.

On Feb 19, 2008 the Planning & Zoning Commission approved a proposal to construct a new lighted little league ball field adjacent to the existing Fusco softball field and a full-size soccer field adjacent to Winding Brook Turf Farm.  The little league field will be built first.  It will include bleachers, dug-outs, press-box and sound system.  Drainage is a concern at both locations.  Other developments include approval of sponsorship signs on outfield fences at town owned baseball and softball fields for four month intervals during the year.
